Aethersteel
Properties
Material Characteristics
Feathery powdered silver filaments that drift in mana-rich regions like clouds, floats atop liquids due to the filament's unique architecture. Has a magical conductivity rating of 10 out of 10.
Geology & Geography
Aethersteel can be drawn from floating mineral clouds in regions with high magical presence, such as areas near mana vents. The ore manifests as silvery filaments suspended in high mana currents and must be collected using aerial rigs or levitation enchantments.
History & Usage
Discovery
Aethersteel was discovered in year 8366 when a group of recently graduated conjuration students spotted a levitating node high above the Mourningcrown Rise north of Monokomanika. When the students constructed devices to reach the oddly shaped node they retrieved dozens of heavy strands that seemed to defy gravity.
Everyday use
Aethersteel has exceptional strength of properties relative to the volume of material making it ideal for cores and frames. It is often a primary component in the central cores supporting floating citadels, anti‑gravity frames, and aether rigging aboard airships.
Refinement
In order to retain its natural properties, Aethersteel must be forged in zero‑g crucibles. For reasons still being researched today, high frequency singing significantly aides in aligning strands which contributes to the material's overall efficacy.
Reusability & Recycling
Aethersteel can be ground at high altitudes to create grounding dust, a gravity-dense powder used in submarines and other submersible watercraft as well as counterweights.

Aethersteel is exclusively sold on Pægor with 9 out of 10 sales occurring in Savior's Levoward.
