Tower of Wheimar

The Tower of Wheimar is a ruined tower situated high upon Mt. Shokai, above present-day Numonnuszkal in the Gonnak Mountains. Believed to have been an important watchtower many years before the Empire, the tower has not been used for war in many years, and it exists in a dangerous state of disrepair. The tower is named after a folk hero of the Eumer who was said to have communed with the mountains long ago from atop a watchtower, and asked them to close their ancient passageways, so that invaders from the west could not reach Wheimar and his people. It is said that the mountains sympathized with Wheimar, and after three days of quaking Earth and great storms of snow, the ancient valleys were no longer passable, and none have since seen the lands or people of the West. Some believe that this tower, which was only rediscovered several decades ago, may have been the site of Wheimar's commune.
