Moszun

The Moszun, or Moszuni, people are indigenous to the northeastern areas of Natua, particularly residing in the  temperate, maritime areas along Nas Kotok Bay, but also reaching slightly into the colder areas of the Broken Lands. They tend to be somewhat taller than the neighboring Eumer ethnic group, and have quite pale skin (even compared to the Arman). They also tend to be very hairy - both the men and the women - and usually have dark brown or black hair. Their facial features are rugged and sharp, although they can be hard to make out because Moszuni people tend to be heavier than other ethnic groups, especially in the winter when fat stores are helpful for dealing with the cold climate of their homelands.

Naming Traditions

Unisex names

Stump, branch, leaf, twig, stem, bud, petal, trunk, blossom, ash, oak, walnut, acorn

Family names

Names of Moszuni people are generally based around a theme which is unique to a person's family, and often has something to do with a common occupation in that family. For example, a common name in a family of blacksmiths may be Ore, Smith, or Galvan. A common name amongst a family of herbalists might be Bloom, Nectar, or Perennia. All names are considered unisex, and surnames do exist, though they are not always included.

Culture

Common Dress code

Traditional Moszun clothing is quite warm by nature, due to the harsh winters that their homelands experience. In the warmer months, simple tunics and robes are worn, and when it is warm enough it is not uncommon to go nude.
Ceremonial clothing is much the same, although it is more colorful and is often adorned with carefully dried and preserved flowers left over from the spring, as well as black and white feathers from birds such as crows and penguins.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

In Moszun culture, beauty standards are quite different from the norm expected in neighboring areas. Whereas most societies in Natua tend to value a slimmer figure, in Moszun society it is often desirable to have a bit of extra weight in the form of body fat (though not too much), as well as strong muscles (for both men and women). Among men, long beards are often considered highly desirable.

Gender Ideals

Gender ideals are not particularly important to most Moszun societies, likely owing to the harsh lands they inhabit, wherein people are valued for their skills and contributions to the common good rather than arbitrary lines of gender.
