Akviz (Culture)
One would be hard pressed to find a culture of more hard working, diligent and straight-laced than the Akviz. Many joke that the cold and dreary climate they originate from has rubbed off on them, as their culture places an obsessive emphasis on working to the greater good and keeping to tradition as often as possible, though this belief has never kept them from innovation.
Names for Akviz are nearly always dithematic, meaning that a name is derived from two words compounded together, often resulting in relatively long two or three syllable names.

Art & Architecture
Architecture
As with many in the north, Akviz take pride in their architecture. Houses are usually made of cheaper materials such as wood, while governmental buildings and merchant's villas are typically built from stone or other long lasting materials. More lavish buildings are often built tall rather than wide, and have usually lead up to intimidatingly grandiose domes. One interesting quirk of Akviz architecture is their obsession with high balconies. On governmental and occasionally church buildings, they will often lead up to a high balcony with which to look over the city. These are hardly uncommon, but the Akviz will often go out of their way to make these balconies especially noticeable, to reflect the governor's watch over a given city.Art
While the Akviz could hardly be said to have a long artistic tradition, the art scene in the council of duchies has recently exploded due to a recent artistic renaissance. Many nobleman spend fortunes commissioning gorgeous paintings, often of cities or personal portraits.Ideals
Beauty Ideals
As one would expect, beauty ideals for the Akviz are quite straight-laced. Popular noble fashion often rewards tall, well built men with sharp jawlines as with many other cultures. Men are often encouraged to grow out longer beards, but still well-maintained facial hair. Meanwhile women with brightly-colored hair and softer faces are typically preferred by men.
