SE&NSCR №s 10 - 14
South Etorea & North Sea Coast Railway №s 10 - 14 was a "class" of five locomotives built by Beyer, Peacock in Gorton, Manchester in 1874. Just like SE&NSCR №s 4 - 9 before them, they were a standard design purchased from Beyer, Peacock but were instead used on shunting duties at Newport and Tarnmouth.
Just like most locomotives used by the SE&NSCR, №s 10 - 14 were obtained from Beyer Peacock, an order was placed with them for six 0-6-0 Saddle Tank engines for shunting duties as previously one of the tender locomotives were used which caused frequent delays due to the extra care needed when running in reverse. They were delivered in 1875 and quickly put into service in Tarnmouth taking over from №s 9, 1, 6 & 3. The locomotives eventually passed into Etorean National Railways ownership but due to being weaker than alot of other engines they were they weren't allocated ENR numbers, instead going into departmental use and retaining their original numbers. They all were withdrawn and scrapped at Pickerill's Yard between 1933 and 1937.
Today only the nameplates of №13 survive.
