GSRoE Saloon №64
Great Southern Railway of Etorea Saloon №64 is a preserved passenger coach in Etorea.
She was constructed in 1897 as part of a batch of five family saloons that were leased to various wealthy families who had the capital to have their own coaches rather than travel amongst other passengers (even those in 1st class). Initially, №64 was leased to Mr. W. M. Lewin for a period of 1 year and 8 months before being leased to the Falkenrath family for a decade ending in 1909. She was then used by the Hepburn family for 8 years ending in 1917.
In 1917, №64 was renumbered to №0134 and was used as the Elvedon area engineer's saloon and was used in this role for some 23 years though was intermittently seen on the Bexcott Light Railway. In 1940, she was requisitioned by the Elvedon Area Home Army along with an NW Class 0-6-0 (ENR №50033) and Type Oz № S1101 where they were used on both training exercises and to transport the members of the Home Army.
In 1952, she was withdrawn after 55 years of service, her body was grounded at Axeley and her chassis was turned into a crane runner for a the permanent way department. While the chassis was scrapped her body was recovered in 1983 and was taken to the ()field Railway where it was mounted on the chassis of Type 67 № M3891, she re-entered service in 1994 as ()field Railway №9.
