Dalcraig Station
Dalcraig Station is a station in Western Etorea, it serves the town of Dalcraig-In-Cotesbury and was built by the Monkton & Newton Haven Railway in 1843.
Purpose / Function
Dalcraig Station was built in 1843 to service the town of Dalcraig-In-Cotesbury by the Monkton & Newton Haven Railway. It was originally built with only two platforms due to the lack of connecting companies or lines appart from a colliery railway that ran into the goods yard. In 1866, the M&NHR was taken over by the South Western Railway. This also coencided with the extention of the station to have a third platform, it was built as a bay platform for stopping passenger trains. The station remained unchanged until 1887 when the goods yard and accompaning goods shed were rebuilt for larger capacity trains.
