1921 Cotton Green Derailment
In 1921, Etorean National Railways locomotive №43023 derailed outside the market town of Cotton Green.
In the days prior to the accident, heavy rainstorms had caused landslides in the local area causing flooding of feilds and flooding of the Lark Canal. On the 11th May 1921, an ex South Etorea & North Sea Coast Railway 2-4-0 was heading a parcels train from Stapleton to Grangemouth when the locomotives hit a landslide causing it to derail and run into the rear courtyard of St. Lukes Church.
