Overview

• Cliff-top castle town. medieval England style. The town is situated atop a hill leading to a sharp cliff . the castle is perched on a rise overlooking the town. it protrudes partway above the cliffside. Below (to the south) there are marshlands- the shallow seas.
• Castle Gatewick- is atop the high cliff. It is surrounded by double curtain walls all around, except the cliff-side. In the middle courtyard there is a DeathGate- a singular high gate not connected to any walls right in the middle of the courtyard. It predates the castle.
• population- mainly human
• economy- mainly agriculture
•  Is the source of knighthood in the realm.
• Secretly ruled by a Death knight. Lord Vargesh Eremort .
• Puppet ruler- The Duke Regent. Lord Roderick Longspear
• His brother is the captain of the marshland rangers.

‘ser’ Bennet Longspear. He is unknighted, but very respected in the realm and is often addressed to as ’ser’. 

The marshes below are a vast wasteland called the shallow sea. Home to many mysterious beasts and fiends.  

It is the source of monsters attacking the lands around Gatewick.  

The marshes are patrolled by a band of rangers led by the brother of the duke-Regent
