Saxe-Coburg and Braganza

The House of Saxe-Coburg and Braganza was the suceeding house of the Brazilian Imperial Family following the ascension of Pedro III, son of Princess Leopoldina of Brazil and Prince Ludwig August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha-Kohary. It became the Saxe-Coburg Line of the Imperial family beginning in 1908 during the dynastic dispute between the regining Emperor Augusto I and Luis of Orleans-Braganza.
