Keon
Keon the Cruncher was a wolverine used by the Kingdom of Canada during the Great War. Initially used a unit mascot, Keon was utilized against enemy supplies, disrupting food storage against the Germans and causing immense chaos. Keon was later trained in order to sniff out explosives, and helped in clearing tunnels and trenches of German mines. Canadian military units were accused of war crimes, in which using animals as combatants against the enemy. However, Canadian Command argued there were no provisions in treaties that excluded the usage of animals.
Following the war, Keon was hailed as a national war hero, having gained the rank of sergeant. He lived the rest of his life in a zoo in the province of Ontario. The unit who utilized him would take the moniker of "Wolverines", being a specialized unit against the Americans in Halifax during the World War.
