Hazeland (HAYZ-land)

Once the greatest empire in south Tectomia, Hazeland included everywhere between the Landun River, the Sana River, and the Sarata River. Their greatest enemy was and is Mazori who, under Kragzar the Great has gained much of their land. Their territory is now confined between The Fonzy Forest to the east, the Longridge Mountains to the north, the Sarata River to the west, and the ocean to the south. The capital is Fort Kaden on the edge of the Broken Sea, which is where the king lives. The laws are written by the king but must be approved by the Eleven Dukes. Each of the Eleven Dukes is responsible for the carrying out of those laws in their own region. If an outlaw leaves a duke's region and goes into another, then the first duke must notify the next duke that a known outlaw has entered his region. The dukes are also the head judges in their region, although they may or may not appoint under judges. The dukes each have a division of soldiers to enforce the law. If the soldiers are called away to war then the duke appoints a group of men to see the job done. Hazeland has many different species, but the official languages are The Common Language and Shelow Elvish. They have had many wars over land with Kragzar the Great but are now at peace. There have been 13 Kings of Hazeland and all of the same dynasty, the Arnorn Dynasty. In 7836 Narohon the Forceful united the dukes under him and ruled them strictly but well, but he lost the Green Arrowhead and the Planes to Mazori. His son and grandson, Narohon II and III, also ruled well. Then Christafer(7889-7932) came to the throne. He made the land very rich and he built many wonders, so he came to be known as the Great. Then his son, also named Christafer, became king and he spent his father's wealth lavishly and he taxed the people heavily. But in 7967 he died and Narohon IV(7946-8003) took the throne. Narohon IV ruled long and well, but, towards the end of his rein, Mazori attacked again and he lost Northdale. His son, Narohon V, reigned long and had no problems with Mazori. Then Larocon I took power and his strength was in his military and he built many forts and towers. His son, Larocon II, was also strong in military and kept his father's forts in good condition, but his son, Larocon III, lost Mount Cak to Kragzar the Great and Mazori. Then came the last Narohon, Narohon VI, who ruled very well but could not take Mount Cak back, although he tried many a time. Then came Manah the Wise, who devised a plan to recapture Mount Cak, which worked. But when Manyah the Wise died, his firstborn mysteriously disappeared, and his second born, who is now called Manyahah the Lazy, took the throne.
The crown signifies the royal kingship. The eleven stars represent the Eleven Dukes. The thirteen stripes represent the thirteen kings of Hazeland.
The Eleven Dukes govern over regions. In the days of Christafer the Great there were eleven regions, but Hazeland has lost much of the land and they now only have eight. The original eleven regions with their dukes are as follows (* means a lost land)
