Morlais Paavola
An eladrin, resident of the lands near the city of Kalawesi-Nerridera. His brother Telor and sister-in-law Ceridwen Rantula were the parents of Iarwenys Naïlo; his son Tristyn is Iarwenys' cousin and compatriot in the Convocation. His wife, Siani, perished in a flood some years before his brother and sister-in-law disappeared during an expedition to the plane of Limbo, pursuing the mystery of the mad god Tizaraeus and his theft of secrets from the goddess Ioun's Archive.
When they disappeared, Morlais took his niece Iarwenys in for a short time, before sending her to the Convocation to be educated and trained. Recently, he gave her the message her parents had received, that sent them on that ill-fated expedition, with the following comment: "I watched my brother and sister-in-law walk away to their doom. I could not speed their child on as well. Not until I thought there might be some hope she could survive it."
Morlais is a skilled architect and builder, a gift he tends to minimize as "I am not an adventurer, but I know my way around building a house."
