The Pits East

The Pits East, carved into the rocky coastline of the "Forbidden Zone", are a scarred wasteland where centuries of acid rain have eaten deep craters into the stone, leaving behind a jagged shore of black water and hollowed earth. Once, this stretch was a lifeline of the Second Empire, with trade ships running constant routes along its cliffs, docking at fortified harbors now long abandoned. Today, only ruin remains. Half-submerged docks, rust-choked cranes, and the hulks of ships corroded to their bones. In their place, pirates and raiders prowl the waters, preying on the rare fool who dares sail too close. Inland, the pits themselves are treacherous, often flooded with toxic runoff that can dissolve flesh as easily as steel. Few willingly linger here, but scavengers, exiles, and those chasing the bones of the past still risk its shores, hoping the drowned wealth of the old trade routes has not been claimed by rust and rot.
