Yuan-Ti
Russia and China's long standing amicability remained strong in the aftermath of The Brink, and as they prepared for the visibly oncoming time of the Deep Freeze, China was paid handsomely for assistance in helping Russia catch up in response to the rise of information espionage taking place. They did not stop at the purpose of spying though, no they had darker desires to satisfy. Their retribution would be visible, but untraceable.
A set of brothers headed the project, one a bio chemist and the other a genetics engineer. With access to the information from China, the pair created a program that yielded frightening results in success. Rather than reliance on symbiotic entities, they worked together to merge the DNA of snakes with humans in order to create agents of espionage that could themselves be weapons of subtle violence. Venomous and resistant to venoms. Secretive, lacking in most emotional capacity, the perfect killers.
Yashin's Units for Neutralization, Termination, and Infiltration. The only project to date that was named first for the scientists that headed the program, immortalized in the names of the serpentine soldiers. In its early years many referred to the Yuan-Ti as the children of Yashin, feared and revered equally for their skills and purpose and the name that meant "chosen of God". They are however skilled in other means of violence, and their hits are often more clean and precise than others, lacking much gore as they take no pleasure in their work and simply wish to achieve their results efficiently. Should a Yuan-Ti be found outside of government work, they seem to find a surprisingly flexible number of jobs to satisfy. Most things that do not rely on friendly face to face interaction, that is. While rarer, they can be find doing less violent jobs that lean towards sciences or information organization.
