Braevin City

Founded roughly 800 years ago, Braevin City was originally a small assortment of tents on a large hill where leaders of the various tribes of the land met in alliance. Centuries later, those humble beginnings are utterly transformed into the seat of a great republic on the verge of becoming a superpower.   Braevin City is a physical example of the libertian spirit. It is beautiful, grandiose, and functional, and the largest city on Karthica. Carved limestone and marble form the tallest and proudest buildings in the city - the opera houses, theatres, universities and administrative centers. The House of the Senate is an enormous crown jewel of the capital sitting at its very centre, where the elected elite of Libertia congregate to discuss and pass laws. Surrounding the city centre are the homes and offices of the merchant elite of the republic - the noble class from which leaders are elected and wealth generated. This area is home to the offices of almost all incorporated companies, financial and service businesses that register with the Chancellor’s office to do trade independently of the republic’s leaders and become an institution more organised than a guild of craftsmen.   Below this tier is the industrial ring. This is a ring of factories, forges and production buildings that are a relatively new addition to the city. The small ring surrounds this, and is home to the poorer members of libertian society, who commonly find work in the factories nearby.   For the rich, Braevin City is the centre of advanced civilisation, where anything is possible, and life's a breeze. For the poor, they can only dream of a place among the rich.
