Rogue: Swashbuckler

Grace in battle, charm in speech—strike true, then vanish with a grin.

Rogue: Swashbuckler

Swashbucklers fight with flair, speed, and confidence. Their swordplay resembles a dance, and their presence is as disarming as their strikes. Whether duelist or pirate, the Swashbuckler thrives in single combat, always one step ahead.

Level 3: Fancy Footwork & Rakish Audacity

  • Fancy Footwork: When you make a melee attack against a creature during your turn, that creature can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of the turn.
  • Rakish Audacity:
    • Add your Charisma modifier to initiative rolls.
    • You can use Sneak Attack without needing advantage if:
      • You are within 5 feet of the target,
      • No other creatures are within 5 feet of you,
      • You don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.
All other Sneak Attack rules still apply.

Level 9: Panache

  • Charming Duelist: As an action, make a Charisma (Persuasion) check contested by a creature’s Wisdom (Insight). You must share a language and the creature must be able to hear you.
    • Hostile Target (on success):
      • Disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than you.
      • Can’t make opportunity attacks against others.
      • Ends if one of your allies attacks or casts a spell on the target, or if you are more than 60 ft apart.
    • Non-Hostile Target (on success):
      • Charmed for 1 minute, regarding you as a friendly acquaintance.
      • Ends immediately if you or an ally harms it.

Level 13: Elegant Maneuver

  • Graceful Burst: As a bonus action, gain advantage on your next Dexterity (Acrobatics) or Strength (Athletics) check made this turn.

Level 17: Master Duelist

  • Flawless Retort: When you miss with an attack roll, reroll it with advantage.
    • Usable once per short or long rest.
