Many rogues walk the fine line between life and death, drawing power from the spirits of the departed to become like ghosts.
Rogue: Phantom
Phantoms are skilled spies and information gatherers who commune with the dead, gaining knowledge and power from the realm beyond.
Whispers of the Dead (3rd Level)
- Echoes of the dead grant you one skill or tool proficiency you lack after each short or long rest.
- You lose this proficiency if you choose a different one using this feature.
Wails from the Grave (3rd Level)
- Immediately after your Sneak Attack, you can target a second creature within 30 feet of the first.
- The second target takes necrotic damage equal to half your Sneak Attack dice (rounded up).
- You can use this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining uses on a long rest.
Tokens of the Departed (9th Level)
- As a reaction when a creature dies within 30 feet, create a Tiny soul trinket in your hand (DM determines form or roll on Trinkets table).
- You can hold a number of soul trinkets equal to your proficiency bonus.
- Soul trinket benefits include:
- Advantage on death saving throws and Constitution saving throws while carrying one.
- Destroy one to use Wails from the Grave without expending a use.
- Destroy one as an action to ask its spirit one question. The spirit answers briefly and truthfully in a known language.
Ghost Walk (13th Level)
- As a bonus action, assume a spectral form for 10 minutes or until ended.
- While spectral, you have flying speed 10 ft., can hover, and attacks against you have disadvantage.
- You can move through creatures and objects as difficult terrain but take 1d10 force damage if you end your turn inside one.
- Reuse after a long rest or by destroying a soul trinket as part of activation.
Death’s Friend (17th Level)
- Wails from the Grave deals necrotic damage to both primary and secondary targets.
- At the end of a long rest, if you have no soul trinkets, one appears in your hand automatically.
