The Fortress of Drag'Nul
DRAG NUL
Population: approximately 850,000
Leader: The Warmaster
Government: Meritocratic Autocracy w/Council of Highest Generals
A Massive Fortress city, set in the center of the Empire, acting as both its capitol, and greatest warfront. This city is a multi-tiered series of Walls, the grandest and most armed being the Inner Wall surrounding the Heartrift, a hole in the fabric of reality, and supposedly the deathblow dealt to Kalio by the Void, during the days of the Endless War. It is both Drag Nul’s sacred Duty and Curse, to keep the Heartrift from pouring out into the rest of Kalio.
THE SWORD DISTRICT
The Northern of the two districts between the Inner Wall and the First Expanded Wall, the Sword District is often home to the Legions within the Empire, most of their families, as well as the support services needed to maintain their lives inside the city. This densely populated super Barracks has over 35% of the entire population of the city, crammed into multiple buildings, several families to each building in series of packed apartments, often assigned by the Praetors, for non-Officers in the Legions, as well as craftsmen and logisticians that are in direct service to the grand crown. Non-Military personnel are not allowed into the Inner Wall districts without a Passmark, a brooch given to non-Legionairres and their family, marking that they are allowed into this dangerous district, so close to the Heartrift.
THE SHIELD DISTRICT
The South End of the Inner Wall Districts, the Shield District is a bit more spaced out, as it is the home of a great number of Logistical and Command Services for the Empire. The Largest of these buildings, is the Warmaster’s Castle, Karag Nur, however, there’s a lot of work done in the Shield District, as its closest to the Heartrift, and outside of the entryways to the

THE RIVERWALK
Home to the “Nobility” of the Empire, its many officers make their homes here, if they do not do so on location to the places they are assigned. The Riverwalk is beautiful, on the West side of the city, up to the Midway Wall, where the River connects to the wall, and heads down the mountain to Ner Tir. Here, the Legions are still poised to guard things, but not nearly as strictly within the District, as they restrict access in and out of the District. Almost anyone who lives here is either a high Ranking Officer, or a well to do member of the Civilian Corps.

THE WANDS DISTRICT
A Relatively small district, this district is located in a small circle of the South end of the Outer Row. Essentially a University Campus, those who have the gift of Magic within Kandever are taken here for training, where they undergo rigorous study, and often return for further training when they aren’t on Leave, but are not on active assignment.
Here, a number of mysteries take place on a regular basis, such as the Taking of Names, a Ceremony where the birth name and true name of a Kandevi Mage is taken by those in command, and obfuscated from the common Memory, hidden on books locked behind the life-force of the Praetor of Magic, and his closest Lieutenants, before giving the magic users of Kandever a Titular name, based on the unique quirks their magic take.
The most recent famous example of this practice is with the Echo of the Mask, Azure Branwen – Lady of the Azure Blaze, born Aurelia Johanna Branwen, gaining her Titular name for the coloration her magic takes, often skewing towards blue flames, or the bright blue in general.

Government
The Government of Drag Nul is that of the Empire. Home to the Seat of the Warmaster, his word is law, his actions are justice, and his opinion is policy, summary, and execution on principle.
The Council of 5, the Praetors of the various Civilian and Military sectors, serve as his council, and potentially his successors, if the Warmaster is ever incapable of his duties.
Beneath each of the Praetors is a series of officers, who distribute and execute the work required of them by their duties.
