Kald Short-Hand Introduction

Thu, Apr 17th 2025 06:30
Kald is a supercontinent where non-corrupted life thrives. Species from drake to humi to muzoval have built societies and formed cultures. However, since everything is able to manipulate the fundamentals of the universe, these people tend not to last long in any singular place. Wolves can create fireballs as a vinsel can mold glass by paw-smoke.

“Magic” is not a thing; it is natural for one’s aura to overlap and read another’s thoughts. It is natural for a drake to breathe fire. It is natural for every living being to be able to do something extraordinary that no one else would be able to without extensive practice.

There are nine species that are deemed sophont. The societies they create tend to accommodate the predominant species of the area. But others are intelligent enough to communicate and live in these societies as well as the dangerous wilds.

One major force of collaboration stands as the pinnacle against the dangers of the outside. The Aldcom formed from the corpse of the world's bloodiest war. They do not rule the world, though they are the most powerful set of nations. They are a super-government made of as an oligarchy from many leaders from nations all across the world. The land that belongs to the government itself is in the center of the world, a set of nations the size of a continent. The capital nation of Kexist is in control of the Aldr K-kep, an ancient meteor encased in pure dax, physical, and filled with suz, soul.

Nearing that vast density of soul holds the key to why so many timelines follow the same course; many key points in history are shared between timelines. The war and formation of the Aldcom is but one keystone. Other than that, most have warring nations to the east, the ancient and enigmatic City of Sornata to the north, a forming super-colony of Vshawen to the east, and the shatters saykzugy (sun/moon band) that gave the night and stars.

There are a few people whose influence on the world also carries immense consequences. Grandmother Wayfarer, The Witch Of Knowledge, Defza, Yaro, Ellis, Jassen & Fa’oon, Lo are but a few. These people mentioned, in fact, have a key role to play in the primary time stream’s greatest threat beyond themselves, beyond the corruption of the Ovald (other world), beyond the gorgon in the woods that eats children, beyond the Beast Beneath the Well. The hatred comes.

There are still plenty of people living their exciting lives. Embvikk has a soldier who has seemed to abscond with the princess, Delvers such as Aoax hunt for dangerous treasure, and Kelnor just wants freedom. The hatred comes for all, may we listen to the bard as they sing, I hear it, a low growl or hum that erodes the symphony. I worry, when it becomes too dark to see, if we’ll still be able to hear. Will you be there? Have you been here?
