Geldheim barely hold off Hadovean attempt to break the outer defenses of Pont

A Hadovean Assualt on Outer Pont results in a stalemate resulting in heavy casualities on both sides

Inside her command tent, General Oakbane, silently seethed while preparing her report of the battle to the Empress. The almost hypnotic effect of the candle light flickering at her desk did little to calm her mood. Her command group had wisely decided to provide her with some privacy to take to this task for fear of having whatever she could get her hands on thrown at them. She was of course a harsh judge, the battle was by no means a failure, in fact a more calm and objective judge would consider the outcome a stalemate. Both of the fortified doors on the outer wall where breeched. The first taken down primarily through a courageous use of explosives then finished off by an Empire Mage. Oakbane made a point of making mention of their bravery in her report. The 2nd door was destroyed by the Empire Trebuchet crew, who Oakbane noted performed an outstanding job in not only taking out the door but also destroying one of the 3 defensive towers. Another tower lay in considerable disrepair as the Empire forces expertly set the structure on fire. However, 1 defensive tower remained as did the buildings behinds it. Oakbane noted that both side had fought valiantly, the Kingdom forces defending with a ferocity that would of make a lesser attacking force crumble. It was a credit to her army that her own forced matched the Geldheimers with equal ferocity and skill at arms, even through her rage she felt immense pride in how they had accounted for themselves. There was considerable loss of life and injury on both sides, the screams currently emanating from infirmary of those burnt by the oil defences, a continuous reminder to her that she would not soon forget. Although there was considerable damage done to the Geldheimers, she knew it was not enough to quell the discontent in the senate. A decisive victory would need to come soon.
