General Lord Arndell Staytor leads a naval mission to rescue the deceased King Allarad Strongbacks son Aytor and bring the Treasonous Lady Earlmand to Justice.

The General proved succesful in his search for Aytor only to fall foul of the fates on his voyage home

Since the assassination attempt on the now deceased King Allard Strongback, loyal servants of the Kingdom of Geldheim have been scouring the land for his second son Aytor. After months of failed searches, many Geldheimers have become convinced that Aytor will never be found and is most likely dead. However, as is often the case, all is not as it seems. Lady Rowena Earlmand has longed to be closer to the throne, but as the youngest of the Earlmands, her options have been limited. It was this desire that led her to secretly cast her lot with Hadovean spies. After the failed (although ultimately successful) assassination attempt on King Allard, it was Lady Earlmand who had by chance first come across a heavily injured Aytor. Aided and abetted by her new found allies, she smuggled Aytor off Ashnoor and set sail for an little know island off the south coast. It was Lady Earlmand’s belief that King Allard would surely succumb to his wounds (It turned out she was right but it took much longer than she expected). When that happens the Monarch Rose Tea Ceremony would be held to decide the next monarch. As a descendant of the Knife Accord, Lady Earlmand, could stake her claim. But so too could Aytor. Best keep him hidden away and heavily sedated until this matter is decided she reasoned. If they were by chance to be discovered she could simply claim to merely be protecting the boy which would surely curry favour for her. When the King did finally die, it did not take long until whispers amongst the common folk to take root with claims of King Allard actually being a god who chose to walk among the mortals. Although Lady Earlmand, considered this talk to be foolish and pure folly, if it was somehow true, surely the son of a god would emerge victorious in the Monarch Rose Tea Ceremony for the gods would surely favour their own. All the more reason to keep Aytor hidden away. Alas even the best laid plans can fall prey to whispers along the dockyards. Rumours had made their way to another claimant for the throne, General Lord Arndell Staytor. Carefully and discretely, he gathered a force to set sail towards the island to rescue the deceased King’s son and bring the treasonous Lady Earlmand to justice.

Even before making landfall, the Geldheim and Hadovean ships were locked in a fierce sea battle. Splinters and the smell of gun powder filled there air. It was the Hadoveans who took the first honors, although unable to stop the Geldheimers making land fall they were at least able to inflict more damage than what they received, although only just. As the Geldheimers made land fall, quick they rushed forward powder keg in hand. Although the blast did not take the fort door down the damage was significant enough to allow them to break through relatively easy with the battering ram. It was not long after that that General Lord Arndell Staytor spotted an opportunity to capture Lady Earlmand, and secure her in their ship to be returned home to justice. However finding Aytor proved no easy task, the Hadovean had hid him well and it was not until the dying moments of the battle that they were able to find him. With the Hadoveans hard on their heels they managed to bring a seriously weakened and dazed Aytor onto the vessel and make sail. There were cheers as they left however General Lord Staytor's mode was somber, for he worried if Aytor would survive the journey home given his injuries. Although he did afford himself a rare smile as he looked forward seeing Lady Earlmand brought to justice at the capital Bannockthorpe.

As tragic fate would have it though, the General Lord vessel was struck by a storm of great ferocity as made it return towards the Ashnoorian coast line. The already badly damaged vessel was no match for the storm sinking beneath the enormous waves. All onboard presumed dead including young prince Aytor
