Geldheim repell Hadoveans attempt to take control of Outer Pont

After the failed Kingdom counter attack to the north along the Escondida River, General Oakbane knew the small and challenging window of opportunity to push into outer Pont would not be open forever. It would not be without risk, there were breeches in the outer walls that could be exploited but the Geldheimers would continue to fight fiercely ensuring that any inch or ground taken was paid for in Hadovean blood. A failed attack could be catastrophic; however, victory could place her insight of the centre of Pont. A prize well and truly worth the risk.   The Kingdom of Geldhiem had won the day.... just. The forces of the Hadovean Empire had fought ferociously and with great vigor and in the early stages of the battle things looked grim for the forces of Geldheim, But to their credit the Geldheimers did not give up and they ultimately were able to prevent the Hadovean's from establishing a foothold in Western Outer Pont. The victory was not without cost though, significant damage was done to many of the structures that would need repair and rebuilding. Worse still the prized great monument in the area has been destroyed beyond repair by a Hadovean Gunslinger. So revered was this monument, wails of despair can be heard throughout the Pont, so much so, a casual observers could be excused for thinking the Geldhiemers had not won the day. However for the Hadovean's this had also proved a day of great sorrow and despair. Not only had they failed in their objective, the devastating news of the death of their beloved General Oakbane, felled by assassins arrow from the towers. The Hadovean Healers, tried desperately to get to her in time to revive her but alas they were too late. The Hadovean's forces incensed with her loss, fought back the Kingdom forces from around her body, successfully recovering her then retreating back to their camp out of the Pont Walls. News will quickly travel the the Capital of their beloved Generals death. The effect on morale will need to be managed carefully for those that remain in command.
