Military: Battle
The Hadovean army attack the geldheim postion outside of Moridale pushing the Geldheimers back to Dragonspan Bridge.
With the thunder of war drums echoing across the field, the Imperial forces launched their assault on Geldheim-controlled territory. Among their ranks marched names known throughout the realm—hardened veterans and rising legends alike. At the front stood stalwart warriors such as Orik Ironskull, Lord Mikhail Orlat, and the indomitable Magnar. Supporting them were elite specialists like Mallory Whitman, Valentina Stardeath, and Ciris Coldburn. Their confidence, bolstered not only by the successful recruitment of the Red Wolf, but also by key members of the feared Red Company: Dunbar Tabai, Baelin, and Trevallyan. Perhaps most surprisingly was the appearance of Finnigan Marybourne, younger brother of legendary Ravin Maybourne. The significance of the battle was not lost on the defenders either. Geldheim’s forces were no less formidable, fielding their own legends: Lord Trelor Alfred Henry Luminere-Smith, Wolfgang, Kindred the Bane, Kraven Bloodmarsh, Jarl Hildra Erikson, Grand Master Eoghann Macan-Ulty, Templar Christian Clark, and the seasoned Mace Lormoy but to name a few. The Imperial plan was straightforward—tried and tested. Their frontline would engage and overwhelm Geldheim's, while their elite support units secured critical battlefield objectives. With confidence, they surged through the barricades to meet the defenders. But the Geldheimers had anticipated this. Cunningly, they allowed the Imperials deep into their fortifications—then turned the terrain against them. The barricades became killing zones as Geldheim Evokers rained fire from above, while Kingdom archers swept across the flanks, unleashing volleys into the advancing Hadoveans. Caught off guard, the Imperials faltered and attempted to shift their advance through the tunnel system. Yet again, the defenders were prepared, repelling the maneuver with ruthless efficiency. Still, history has shown the Hadoveans are no easy force to break. Recovering quickly from their setback, they regrouped and pressed forward, slowly regaining ground in a vicious contest of attrition. As the battle wore on, the outcome remained uncertain—until Mallory Whitman of the Fox Den made her move. With fearless resolve, she detonated a devastating charge deep within the Geldheim lines, breaking their defensive hold and throwing their formation into chaos. Forced to retreat, the Geldheimers fell back to the stronghold at Dragonspan Bridge. The Hadoveans had secured a hard-fought victory and now command the territory surrounding Moridale. The defenders, though bloodied, are far from broken. At Dragonspan, they regroup—wounded but defiant—ready to unleash their own retaliation against the advancing Imperials.
