Incident at Machete Mountains

Military: Skirmish

The Machete mountains are known as the gateway to Brittlestone mines in many circles. Too vast and rugged an area to patrol at all really and being in contested territory no one to patrol. It is not unknown for opportunistic bands to raid the mines occasionally— not always successfully, in fact rarely so, however, seeking refuge in the many mountain passes, tracks, trails and hidden ravines is almost always successful. Therefore, it was astoundingly poor luck for a well organized Hadovean Imperial raiding party deep in contested territory, closer to Geldheim territory than their own, camped across a ravine from a Geldheim force with the same intent, raiding the mines. Clearly, they would need to deal with each other first, both camps were bolstered by some “locals” with intent to gain some of the benefits from the mines that even they were not normally given access to. Both groups are sanctioned to be there, however, neither were ever officially there...
