A battle takes place in the Burning Belt when diamonds are discovered.

Since the discovery of the Rediscovered Lands, both the Kingdom of Geldheim and the Hadovean Empire have given more than passing thought as to where and when to advance north. Until recently though, no significant planning had taken place by either side regarding the matter. At least not until 2 significant pieces of information had come to light. Firstly, diamonds have been discovered in the Burning Belt near the base of The Caldron. Secondly, it was discovered, that the local tribes in the area, seeking a better price for their newly acquired resource had entered into a secret arrangement with the Hadovean Empire for sale of the diamonds and some level of protection against the inevitable claim from the Kingdom of Geldheim. Through the blue tinged lens of the Kingdom of Geldheim, such an act of treachery must not go unpunished, however from the green lens of the Hadovean Empire, protecting their newly acquired business partner was clearly the only honourable choice.

Fire raged throughout the volatile terrain of the Burning Belt as the forces of the Kingdom of Geldheim clashed with the miners of the region, supported heavily by the Hadovean Empire. Fire erupted from the very earth sending huge plumes of flame skyward proving just as dangerous as the foes on the battle field resulting in many a charred corpse as a reminder. It was the Kingdom forces that took the early advantage carving through the ranks with brutality, but the Hadoveans proved their worth fighting back valiantly, slaying the Kingdom Commander while keeping their own well protected. It soon became clear the Geldheimers would not be able to take control of the area, the day was lost. The command was given to retreat taking as much of the precious resources as they could with them to back their base at Hill Fort.
