Hadovea defeat Geldheim at the River Fort

Military: Battle

1255AE
16/2

The Hadovean empire defeat the Kingdom of Geldheim, routing them from the River Fort near Sweetwater.

The battle was fierce with neither side giving quarter to the other. The Kingdom of Geldheim had secured the river fort before the arrival of the Hadovean Empire. Taking full advantage they showered the Empire advance with arrows and shot so numerous they seemed to block out the sun above. But the Hadoveans would not give up without a fight. Slowly but surely they fought back, helped in no small measure by a sizable militia force at their disposal. They stormed the fort under a hail of missile fire. Huge explosions erupted, reducing the fort door to rubble. Streaming though the now open entry point an intense battle ensued while the Hadoveans attempted to destroy the river chains and repel the Kingdom force. The Geldhiemers fought valiantly but alas for them it was not enough, eventually forced to pull back allowing the Hadoveans to win the day
