The Kingdom of Geldheim fail to secure more territory along the Vespilli river

The long march from the coast had gone quite well really. Possibly buoyed by their victory at sea, the kingdom force was tired but in good spirits and, far more importantly, good order. General Mercayleru peered through his looking glass at the river town.... tougher looking than intel had suggested. After surveying the place, the general was as satisfied as he could be with the attack plan. As always more forces and more resources would help him to breath easier, but that wasn't going to be wished into existence, although the mercenaries acquired with some of the gold they so valiantly protected on the Gold Serpent at least allowed him some breath in his lungs. Regardless, they would make do or fail he thought with the pragmatism of a veteran of many campaigns.

The battle was ferocious as the Kingdom of Geldheim forces forces smashed their way though the formidable doors of the fort. They had taken heavy losses but they were buoyed by their initial success. The Hadovean Empire aligned forces were not done yet as the rallied to hold their ground inside the structure. As the final battle loomed and the Kingdom looked to get the townships council members from the vault to the wharf. The Kingdom forces made some progress, but sadly for them not enough as both sides fought themselves to a standstill. The township on the Vespilli River remaining contested as the battle ended.
