Shadowfell

"It is a cursed godless land, where malice and hate congeal into vaporous shadows. And should you step one foot within, Slayer or no, I will put you down without a second thought."

- An unknown Black Watch member, stationed within Morin's Watch.

From the sky and the ground, fall and rise the dead, though none dare enter to die, yet still they appear. The beasts above scour the darkened land for flesh, while the mites scuttling across the barren wastes seek the dead to rise again. Comrades forced to devour your flesh, and pass on their parasitic monsters. Around every corner, choking shadows lap at your skin like a sea of acid. The only question is what will give in first. Your spirit? Your mind? Or your flesh…

- Humber Dumblfeet, on why he refuses to explore the Shadowfell.

Geography

A place where light goes to die, the Shadowfell lies past the Ivory Walls and beyond the Dark Peaks

Localized Phenomena

Land of Shadows

Bathed in darkness and swirling shadows, the Fell is a place of damnation and ruination. Twisting and distorting everything and anything unfortunate enough to find itself within, until all that is left is a bastardizing of what once was. From man to beast, plants to terrain, even reality itself seems to distort and crack beneath its own weight; many have described the dead appearing where previously nothing lay, or corpses of beasts plummeting from the sky, crashing into the ground below. Even light is of little aid, as it is inevitably snuffed out by the clawing shadows that constrict and choke.

As for those living creatures infortunate enough to find themselves within, Shadow Corruption is inevitable. With some being fused to the very earth, bound to another, or broken down to their very basic components to be rebuilt in a cruel and wicked new form.
