Marcel Sunguard
Marcel Sunguard is simultaneously one of the most respected, disliked, feared, and hated men on Joia. The respect stems from decades of service in the name of keeping Joia safe, as well as the personal power he has acquired and still very carry with him. The remaining however usually comes from two different kinds of people. Hate and fear from those who have to face him and his organization as prone to mercy are one of the last things that could be used to describe the man and dislike from most people who have talked with him for a protracted period of time and isn't his subordinate.
Besides being a man best known for personally murdering more adventurers than anyone else alive, he is also incredibly stubborn, generally grumpy, somewhat impolite, and not afraid to say exactly what he's thinking. There are of course those that like his brusqueness, but nobles and other influential people that he so often has to court out of necessity are rarely one of them.
Though his older age has seen him take to the field less often than in his prime, it should be no reason to think him weaker. While it might be true, physically speaking, he has only gotten more vicious with age as well as using more of his famously deadly steel trap of a mind.
