Chronicle of Fates: Session 6, Old Flames and Overdue Apologize.

The party departed the Chosen of Vecna’s manor, briefly checked in with Branches before attempting to gate into Tia’s Library.   The party instead ended up in a space with The Eternal Serpent. The Serpent gave them permission to use “Spearadear’s way” into the library, would block anything else.   Passing safely into library the Rhy planeshifted the Realm Walkers to the bar in Cintar.   Unable to meet with Elyana till dark, the party split up.   Ranrus communed with Amkerst and Leeohlia and then reached out to Silence, getting an invite to the 8th layer of Hell.   Rhy went on a walking date with Ysir and spoke with many groups from schools outside Cintar who had received the same or similar invites as Elyana.   Lee, while walking the city, discovered Abigail and Stay. Abigail was invited to the Tower as well. Lee and stay left to fade to black.   Later the party and Stay gathered at the bar, with Abigail joining later. They ended up going into a demiplane so that hey could discuss the event and Elizibeth Zorgel, whom the party was there to look into. after their discussion everyone left the demiplane and returned to the bar where Gil and his sister were waiting at the bar.

Lee looked into the Chosen’s daydreams and saw a complex encoded list massive and detailed thought of seemingly in full at which time he focused on the music which he could see as colour.   The Realm Walkers left the Chosen’s manor. Ranrus considered damaging the fountain but thought better of it.   They checked in on branches before leaving asking he wanted them to tell Ohpa or Oka his where abouts. He said they could tell Oka, but they should not tell Ohpa.   They left him and Ranrus cast gate, for them to re enter Tia’s Library   The spell appeared to work but as they each passed through, they arrived in a space Rhy was somewhat familiar with. The eternal serpent in its constellation form appeared before them.   The serpent quickly explained that he had a deal to not let people enter the library by planeshifting or any means but the item.   The party suggested they should let Rhy get them in future and the serpent related even a chosen of Spearadear should have the power to circumvent his protections. This iteration of the Serpent was not as kind as the one in the future. It was on guard and suspicious of the party. The Serpent believed they had an extra gift, but this did not drop its guard.   He agreed to let them pass this time but for it to happen again he would need to renegotiate with a ghost, but if he noticed the Realm Walkers special way, he would allow it.   They learnt Tia’s deal to protect the space was in exchange for letting the serpent keep a prisoner in the space around their planes the party instantly realized it was Eragis. The serpent acknowledge they had freed Eragis but did not hold a grudge noting they had fixed the problem they created.   Rhy sense out into the serpent’s form and could see and sense tears. Rhy thanked him for helping those who have fallen out of Spearadear s favour which confused the serpent unaware of his future behavior and Rhy misassigning the tears to similar behaviour.   The serpent confirmed the rules going forward and the gate spell reappeared. Ranrus took a moment to look at the Serpent and realized what Rhy had given him in the future was not a tooth, but just a chip of a gigantic tooth.   From Tia’s Library the party planeshifted to outside the bar in Cintar where the Trendisimo sibling were staying. Their sudden appearance startled a table who exclaimed “fuck wizards”.   Inside the bar they found Elyana’s bodyguard Pensen Torotson. They asked where Elyana was and learnt she was out shopping with Gil and would not be back till nightfall. Rhy asked about her access to The Tower of Eg. He explained she had received an invitation stating it would be during the remembrance. And the invitation would change to tell them when.   While they considered what to do, the sending plank response from Oka arrived.   In response they sent another coded message explaining branches situation and to mot tell Ohpa.   Rhy used her ear cuff to send to Elyana, telling her they were back and wanted to take her up on her offer to go with her to the tower of Eg. She replied, still wanting to know what it was worth to Rhy and that she was out dress shopping and would be back later and they could discuss.   With little to do they party decide to take the afternoon to themselves, le explored the city, Rhy and Ysir went on a date and Ranrus went to a near by park to commune with the loxodon Gods, Amkerst and Leeohlia.   Ranrus found a quite park and cast commune using the amulet of the light mother as his focus. as he began to connect, he felt the eyes of other gods, Bahamut and other lawful gods, watching him make contact with other gods with no presence on Ithica.   He arrived in a space of duality. Magma and black stone mountain with a charcoal cracked skin Loxodon sat across from a meadow with a living, growing, throne with a light grey skinned smaller feminine Loxodon that seemed to glow. The two loomed over him as he stood where the two spaces met. Ranrus introduced himself and began to ask questions. this commune was strong, but it was limited to that of the spell normal rules, three questions, shared between the two Gods. He asked what made Leeohlia bestow the blessing onto him. she explained he had a warm soul, and she saw fit to bless one Loxodon in every generation. Ranrus inquired further, that there were others like him she explained since his birth there had been some, there were no others when he was born, and there are very few left. Ranrus asked why there were so few of those blessed like him. Amkerst replied. the cult hunts my wife’s blessed, my blessed hunt the cult. Ranrus thanked them for his boons and while he could not be their chosen, he would help them in his mortal form. they acknowledged it and the shadow of Bahamut momentarily loomed over this divine space.   Ranrus returned to his body and discovered a meditation or prayer circle had formed.   Rhy had an adorable date walking the city with Ysir. She started to notice that there were an abnormal number of people in school robes and garb of schools not it Cintar. Being on a date she tried to restrain her curiosity but on a brief mention of the peculiarity, Ysir told her to go talk to them, a sentence he barely finished before she went to speak to two young students like in their late teens early twenties, an elf girl and half orc boy student from Grey Tusk Academy and asked what’s going on, why there were so many people from other schools there.   The young elven girl awkwardly explained they were there with the head of the magical research department. Rhy remembered the teacher, Rick Ratrum, and asked about him and learnt he had disappeared, and the head was now his daughter, Paula. He had been researching creating public teleportation, and now his daughter seems to be working on retrieving things lost in failed teleportation. Rhy asked them their names, the Elf was Kat, and the half orc was Gregory. and she introduced herself. Kat was enamoured by Rhy’s style and lifestyle. Rhy gave Kat her spare ring of protection and the girl blushed before Gregory encouraged them to return to their hotel to wait for Paula to return.   Rhy returned turned back to Ysir who made a playful joke about what appeared to be the sudden crush Rhy had created by gifting a ring. the continued on their date, Rhy occasionally stopping to talk to other members of other schools. Lee wondered the streets when he stumbled upon a slightly more interesting street where some dogs were playing a street seller with remembrance decorations was sell strange dust, and two very interesting Tieflings were talking. the one facing her was Abigail, the chosen of Ioun. lee decided to sneak up on the pair. he put up his hood knowing Abigail would notice the disappearing person but not have seen his face well enough. sneaking behind Abigail Lee saw another familiar face, Stay. The two were discuss the multiplying effects of ritual, Abigail focused on scrying and divination, and Abigail on groups being able to become greater than themselves. Lee spoke startling the two and Stay called the behaviour creepy, causing lee to pull back his hood. the two instantly recognized him. stay threw herself on lee telling Abigail the lee was in love with her. the trio began to discus what they were doing in Cintar. Lee informed them that Rhy was there. Abigail explained she had an invite to the gathering at the Tower of Eg and was surprised that Rhy had not received an invitation. Abigail was confused by the number of people who appeared to be invited including smaller school who would traditionally never be given access, let alone invited. she described that the heads of department form other schools would be considered plebian by the staff of the tower of Eg. Lee was confused by Abigial's expectation that Rhy would have gotten an invite, but realized she really thought Rhy would have gotten one, and that lee was lying.   Abigail started to say good by, allowing stay who seemed to be under her employee to have time with lee, agreeing to let stay have their hotel room. as Abigail walked away lee messaged her and said, " we are here to get the tower, but we did not get an invitation."   "If you need in, and she’s comfortable with it, I’m have permission to bring a retinue. there doesn’t appear to be a limited outside politeness on how many people are in it."   Abigail went to experience the Cintar remembrance celebration.   Lee and Stay went to Abigail hotel room.   Rhy in her discussion with invitees, learned all the invitees were studying magic, most of ten experimental or research.   Rhy inquired about Elizabeth with them and found little as the invites were from the institution and was likely from all the headmistresses.   She also looked for a fan of Winter Zorgel and did find it strange that there was none considering his fame.   Ranrus left the circle that had formed and headed back to the bar and asked to use one of their rooms for a short period and from the room sent using the spell to silence. He asked her for if could request some favours and meet with him to talk in more detail. She replied, " Come visit me on the 8th." Ranrus knew this to referred to realm of Mephistopheles. He returned to the bar proper   Lee and stay prepared to head back to the bar, before they left lee sent to Rhy to ask if it was ok to invite stay to join them. Rhy agreed and Lee told Stay to invite Abigail which she did with a magic ball of water she whispered into. Lee asked how things were with Grestien and stay confirmed the monster was now her patron.   as stay was getting dressed lee noticed some weird black markings in her skin, supposedly some thing caused by being a warlock of Grestien. the two headed back and as they walked talked about their patrons. Lee explained his patron was trapped/lost after destroying one of her Dragon Gates.   the party all back at the bar. Lee and Stay arriving last. Stay tried messing with Rhy by pretending she and lee were married, ring and all. Stay saw Ysir and made an advance and was recalled back in by Lee. Lee was surprised that stay seemed to acknowledge Ysir marriage ring an Rhy not having one. chaos ensued in talking about how attractive they all were and who could and could not be hit on. eventually Ysir just sat with Rhy, and lee stopped fumbling his words with stay and Ysir.   Abigail arrived and asked Rhy and the party if she could sit with them. they said yes and she started to discuss the invites. Abigail explained she had been hearing whispers of Rhy in academic circles. Rhy held back her panic at the mention of Whispers. Stay was confused when Rhy said she hadn't done anything academically. as stay had mentioned she had co authored a research paper. Rhy realize Grarrl had creditor her on something he had published.   Rhy concluded that she had no reason to expect an invite. but they were there to look into something that might be happening in the tower. realizing the conversation could use privacy, Abigail cast demi plane and they all went in. this prompted yet another "fucking wizards".   Rhy explained they were interested in Elizabeth Zorgel. Abigail had met her; Elizabeth had greeted her when she had been in the tower but had no significant time with her. she had heard she was uptight and focused on rules. Rhy asked if Abigail knew if Elizabeth had interest in other planes. Abigail assumed she knew, it wasn't The Temple of Ioun, and the tower could not have been built with out other planar understanding, but nothing specific. Abigail also avoided the subject to avoid risking exposing herself as being from another plane.   Abigail brought attention back to the fact they could join her retinue if they were comfortable with it. Abigail highlighted that if they wanted to learn about Elizabeth, the three best people to ask about her were in the Tower of Eg. Abigail didn't want anything in exchange. she was offering it as an olive branch.   with a sense of completion stay looked at the le and the couple and not so subtly implied they should get into "trouble" in the library, since she had never gone to college.   Abigail recentered the conversation explaining she was sure Elizabeth would be present during what ever the invitation was for and worst case they could talk to Morgianna, who was always happy to tell people about her sisters.   Rhy expressed her worry that something dangerous might be happening considering the type of people and the strangeness of the invite, she worried about some sort of mass sacrifice.   Abigail thought it was unlikely since there were far more student and faculty then there were invitees, so it would be strange, but she now would take it into consideration.   Stay's theory was it was about recruitment because they had been too snooty and gatekeep.   Rhy asked about dress code and was worried about being disarmed. Abigail explained their garb would be fine. But that they would disarm them or use magic to prevent Hexblade or apply an anti magic device to anything they refused to give. Magical storage would also be checked. she went on to explain there were strong magical defense, like automated anti magic and counter spells.   Rhy asked about anything Abigail knew about winter Zorgel. She had done a little research upon learning about his rumored mother but nothing more. She expected any detail text or personal writings about him in the tower would be in a private collection.   As the spell was coming to a close the party exited the demi plane seeing Gil and his sister at the bar Gill looked at them and called out "fucking wizards".   Date: The 22nd of Haunthera, 1437 DC
