The Coalition

Structure

The Coalition was an illicit force made up of infantry, mages, and even cavalry. At the top of the organization was the "the Bluebird," the codename for the Coalition's leader. Alongside a council of advisors, the Bluebird organized guerilla-styled raids on United Forces-held townships and villages to gain support.

Public Agenda

The Coalition's main goal was to depose and overthrow King Semia. It was created after the House of Night and its host suffered a devastating defeat when attempting to lay siege to the city of Tregaron.

Assets

The Coalition boasted hundreds of troops, mages, and the Voidbearer at its disposal. Along with this army, the Coalition had the support of some of Dianera's local populaces. Once the Coalition got wind of Semia's project (later known as the Champions' Walk), the group was swift to act. They infiltrated and stole several "vessels" for Semia's would-be Champions, bringing them to their base of Pariah's Keep. These Champions were instrumental in the later Raid of Tregaron.

History

The Coalition was formed after the House of Night was defeated at Tregaron's gates. From its base in Pariah's Keep, the Coalition gained strength and momentum, even after its leader, King Aesaria, died.   After the king's death, the Coalition rallied around a mysterious figure codenamed "the Bluebird." The Bluebird was rumored to be Aesaria's daughter, fathered while he was recovering from his wounds in the village of Arvid. Under the Bluebird's leadership, the Coalition gradually became a force to be reckoned with once more. The group came into possession of many of Semia's Champions, as well as a mage-hunting creature known as the "Voidbearer." These would prove to be invaluable assets.   The Coalition took the village of Beacon Hill, a strategically important location. Though the Coalition suffered crippling losses at the hands of Semia's remaining Champion, the Coalition held onto its territory and occupied Beacon Hill. Once occupying the fortress, the Coalition got to work reconstructing and renovating the castle itself. During the renovations, a Sacred Gate was discovered in one of the fortress' cellars. It would be this Gate that allowed the Coalition to infiltrate both Tregaron and the Dreadhold undetected.   The Coalition's council came to the conclusion the Gate could be used to swiftly end the war of succession and depose Semia. Using the Champions, several mentors, and the Revolver, the Coalition made their move and used Beacon Hill's portal to raid Tregaron. What followed was nothing less than a double-edged defeat. Though Semia was dead, the Coalition had lost many soldiers and the nobility had executed a coup of their own, making it impossible for the Coalition to safely take power.   Defeated, the remains of the Coalition fled. Their dissolution followed shortly after.

Disbandment

The Raid of Tregaron saw the Coalition sustaining huge casualties. These losses, coupled with the nobility's coup, made their position at Beacon Hill unsustainable. Shortly after the Raid, the new Royal Council invaded the Forgotten Valley and approached Pariah's Keep. Cornered, the Bluebird fled along with the few remaining soldiers and advisors left in the Coalition. The Champions were seized by the Royal Council.
