Nephilim Culture
Way of Life for the Cursed Folk
Hidden in a shroud of clouds, rarely will one ever enter the homeland of these people, surrounded by a magic that infects anyone that does not share their ancestry. The Drizzle is not something to trifle with, but it is only here in this volcanic place that these people can live their lives away from the judgment that is so often tied to their horns. It is beneath the heavy clouds of the Fire Islands that the Nephilim make their home, away from the prying eyes and the looks that condemn them, even though their heritage is not of their choosing.
Their ties to Demons sometimes define the Nephilim, it determines their color, their horns, and even sometimes their personality, but these people have attempted to build a culture and traditions that are removed from that. Instead of solitary lifestyles, they prefer to build family units or even clans that often live together and share their lives. While many condemn these people as evil, they wish for nothing more than simple lifestyles in which they can do the things they love, without the prejudice that follows them. Only on the Fire Islands, in the harshest conditions, do these people thrive, finally allowed to be themselves without the need to hide.
In their quest to find recognition that is removed from their heritage, these people have found the teachings of Utarr, choosing knowledge as a way to better themselves and the lives that they are often relegated to. Libraries and institutions of learning are central to their culture, beautiful monoliths of knowledge that serve as temples and houses of worship. Shrouded within the clouds of the Fire Islands, towering examples of architecture and infrastructure give life to the years dedicated to betterment, the pursuit of knowledge, and becoming more than their Demonic ties.
