Cane
Physi for Diabetes
A small furry creature pokes its head out of the pocket of a Human, flashing a brilliant lime green, before slowly making its way to the person's shoulder, a small slime trail left in its wake. While continuing to work, the Human lets out a small acknowledgement before the now slimy creature nuzzles against her neck, giving her a small amount of the medicine that would keep her from slowing. After a few minutes, the fuzzy creature returns to a vibrant green color, satisfied with the change in the Human, and slowly returns to its home in the woman's shirt pocket.
The small ball of fur that resides in the pocket of the Human is the one instance of the Physi that was intentional. The other colors appeared randomly, their jobs only being realized through a great deal of trial and error. But there are some things that even magic cannot dispel, but in many cases, magic can help ease the effects in some way. One of the group of students that created the Physi suffered from a condition relating to varying levels of blood sugar and decided to dedicate her time to creating a device that would help her the same way the other Physi helped others.
Cane was a labor of love, one that took over a year to research, develop, and create on par with the other Physi that had appeared by mistake. Each of the Physi had their own specific uses, randomly appearing through failed experiments, but the Cane was different. Its purpose had been in mind from the very beginning, an attempt to fix a problem that affected a small population, but one that was prevalent in children. Much like its siblings, the Cane would become one of the most important assistive technologies that exists on the Northern Continent.
Utility
Physi with a green color are known for their ability to help with conditions that come from low or high blood sugar. These Physi change color to show changes in levels. Lime green denotes low blood sugar, green denotes safe levels, and bluish-green denotes high blood sugar. When needed, these Physi become covered in a somewhat slimy and sticky substance that, when touched to skin, can deliver a jolt of insulin. Cane can be used by anyone and can even be shared between a number of people, but these Physi often form strong bonds with their people, attuning to their body and can predict highs and lows in blood sugar long before the person may feel it. Cane have also been known to carry small snacks for their people as well to help with blood sugar regulation.Manufacturing
While it took some time after the creation of the Physi to be able to reliably recreate the creatures, the Cane can now be mass-produced easily. It is nearly impossible to create them outside the conditions of the Unending Scroll, so an entire team is dedicated to the creation of these creatures so that they can be shared across the continent.

Access & Availability
While a creation of the Unending Scroll and the Elven Kingdom, these furry creatures have become widely available throughout the Northern Continent from a variety of places. Most commonly, these creatures can be given to individuals by healers, priests, or Clerics if it is determined that there is a need. It is also possible to purchase these creatures from some merchants, but often only in larger cities.
The cost of these creatures is kept low as the powers of Voreios have determined the effects of the Cane to be a necessity for many. Healers and Clerics will often give these out for free, while merchants can charge no more than a single Vóreios Gold for one.
Discovery
The Cane is a creation of the Unending Scroll, although an unintended one. Throughout the existence of the academy, various things have been researched and created by the students there in order to better the lives of those who live in the Elven Kingdom. Originally, a group of students set out to create an artificial creature that would produce a fine silk, but their first few attempts created less than satisfactory results.
After many attempts, a small furry creature was created, but it did not have the intended outcome that the students required. This creature, soon to be named Physi (or Fizzy), had very interesting properties. The various colors of the creatures denoted different effects, and through some continued research, it was determined that these creatures could be used to aid with various disabilities that could not be easily aided through magic.
Oh I adore them, such a creative little creature and such an inspired response to this prompt. Very apt and a really cool fantasy spin on diabetes management, well done :)
