UNW Council members deliberate on a potentially sector changing decision.
With reports of two tendrils of The Fleshshapers armada moving towards both Halia and Acastus, an emergency session of the Unity Council was called to determine the response that the UNW would take. It was clear that only one planet could be adequately defended by the UNW navy, leaving the other to it's fate. Acastus was the homeworld of Greystar, a nominal ally in the Fleshshaper War and home to eight million beings. It was unknown whether they would be able to hold against the enemy themselves. Halia was the home of the tiny remnant of the Wasimian people, the last chance that species had to make a world for themselves. The decision weighed heavily on all councillors. The debate was lively and wrought with emotion. Council members spoke freely and disagreed openly, but respect was shown to all sides as few could claim that either choice was objectively right. It soon became clear that one side held a majority, and a vote was called. Halia was chosen to host the UNW Combined Fleet, in what would become the first major engagement of the Fleshshaper War. Ships from the Rigers Corps of Engineers, Void Wardens, Whitaker Solutions, Ad-Astra Companies and Trivedi Technologies were sent to join the UNW forces, with ships also being sent by the RCOE and Whitaker Solutions to Acastus. After the conclusion of voting, it was revealed by Dax Withers and Regulus Fate that the Fleshshapers were not operating under their own will, but the will of the same starbeast that caused The Scream. Plans to travel to the Wraith Nebula to the galactic south were immediately moved forward.
