Robert Tanzer dies how he lived, fearlessly.

In Y3M9, First Warden of the Void Wardens Robert Tanzer and his two ship flight were returning from a mission that unlocked a key to The Fleshshapers crisis in the south of United Nation of Worlds territories when they made the fateful decision to check in and refuel at Shariar.    Upon arriving in system, two craft later confirmed to belong to the Brotherhood of Fenris were in system assaulting the UNW garrison, and transporting former Tenebrian Remnant loyalists off world to bolster Brotherhood ranks.   The two flights of ships stood off for long moments, both trying to avoid an engagement, but it quickly became apparent that violence could not be danced around. Each group had caught the other in the midst of a sensitive operation.   The Adder was immediately launched, Xu'Ganara given explicit orders to race as deep into UNW territory as he could, psychic ritual book in hand. The secrets contained within could banish the scream beast and end the shaper crisis for good.   Aboard the Vanguard, Robert Tanzer fought until the end, destroying one vessel outright, and ramming the other with the last of his badly damaged ship's strength. It is rumored he saw his child and family again as he died, grateful at last for peace.   Xu'Ganara did make it back to UNW territory with the book in hand. The ritual would later go on to be cast to coincide with the Singularity Gun hitting the shaper capital world.   He would briefly re-appear during the final psionic attack on the scream beast, in the form of an MES specter.
