The Battle of Northfields

Military action

The Inheritor Alliance commits half its entire army to a pitched battle. Terminals are driven out of the Northfield ruins. Many are killed within. The way is cleared for northward Inheritor Alliance expansion.

The Inheritor Alliance decides to make its  move against the ruins of Northfield that had been overrun by Terminals and biological processes gone awry.    A three pronged attack against the city involved blocking off both the southern and western gate, and sending sapper teams in to destroy the subway tunnels where Terminals looked for shelter after a chemical attack.    Saturation fire by artillery, and skilled tunnel fighting carried the day- and although Inheritor patrols and burn teams needed several weeks to clear the city amid heavy losses, the city ruins were finally taken. A significant impediment to expanding north was finally removed and the Alliance continued making progress toward their planetside Lagrange Gate.
