Thorgerd is a barren world, surrounded by a ring of dense asteroids, and millions of floating ice chunks.   Trivedi Technologies and Rigers Corps of Engineers once had small asteroid bases of their own here. These stations are now abandoned around the large resource asteroids they once mined.   The United Nations of Worlds has gas collection plants, water collectors, and other mining operations based here responsible for shuttling resources to less developed planets around the polity.   This region is also home to something called a Void Ray, which is one of the only documented species of animal living in deep space as part of their native environment.   In late 2670 a separatist group known as the Sons of Stone began working in the background of Thorgerd, advocating for throwing off the controls of the United Nations of Worlds. The miners are organizing under the leadership of the Sons of Stone, viewing their distant government as good for only collecting taxes and carting off the wealth of the system. Currently, a protracted legal battle in ISF court between the United Nations of Worlds and the Sons of Stone legal team rages, debating the merits of the colonial charter. Both sides remain deadlocked, and the deployment of a unit of marines to the mining station has only served to simmer already increasing tensions.
