Silvano Mazzio

Silvano Mazzio was always considered a strange child by most, even since he could walk and form his first words. So it was no surprise that by the time he was an adult, he had gone off to live alone, away from all family and friends. His planet of birth, and his home for the first part of his hermetic life, is called Cebradus. It was a decent enough world, at least in those days. It was strong in all economic areas, agriculture, industry, technology, even tourism. There were mega cities, as well as unexplored wilderness. That’s where Sil lost himself, living alone, learning skills of self sufficiency. Life was peaceful enough, until the Tenebrean-Black Sun War came.   The first bomb strikes devastated the infrastructure of the planet. Silvano contacted his family, and found his parents and two of his brothers were killed. Only his sister, Aida, and younger brother, Nino, made it out, and had fled the planet. Silvano decides it was time to get off planet too, and was able to get on a refugee ship and got into orbit. From there, his life took another turn. He found his siblings had made it out and were safe living on another world, but he lacked any resources to get to them, and found himself stuck on a refugee camp on another world, without anyway to get off of it. Until, that is, he was discovered. Discovered by a renegade, one feared by most, a rogue psychic. This woman, confronted Sil, and informed him, he too had the gift. She said, if he assisted her, she would help him learn how to control, and use his abilities. She also said she could get him out of there, and that convinced him as much to agree to go with her as anything else.   Her name turned out to be Sybell Cheyne. From there, they traveled from world to world together, staying under the radar, Sil learning that he did indeed have strange abilities, and gradually how to control them. Sybell required various tasks of him. He didn’t understand what they were accomplishing, but they were getting easier and easier for him as he got control of his abilities. Not only did she teach him about psionics, but a few other skills too. Like how to use energy weapons. And then, one day, she was gone. She had taught him a lot, he knew the basics of all the disciplines, and how to unlock them within himself. But he doesn’t know what happened to her. She did leave him some money though, and a very nice piece of tech.   From there Sil was on his own, and he figured, with his new abilities, perhaps he could leverage them into some income. So doing a search, he found a listing from Greenbriar Inc. Expedition to a new world? That sounded like it was in his skill set, and should be easy enough, so he signed up, got hired, and found he was placed in a sleep pod as the journey set out. And that was the last thing he remembered...   He awoke in the care of pre-UNW Greenbriar Inc, and upon awakening his teleportation abilities returned in full. Silvano was nearly everywhere during the early years of Gudrun exploration, reuniting the Piggen on Gudrun, the four day desert war against the Helldivers, and he was a key participant in several raids against the Underhill Collective.   His career culminated in several moments, namely killing the Underhill Overqueen by planting a demolition charge into a large wound at the base of her neck, teleportation aboard and disabling several Tenerbrian Remnant warships during the Battle of Asilief, and finally, striking a killing blow against a Remnant base on the planet Terezinho.   The Terezinho mission is where cracks began to show in how Mr. Mazzio thought the UNW should be organized going forward. A cult like meritocracy of notables had been forming around him, and his impressive honor roll turned into what some would call megalomania. Any plan that did not involve Mr. Mazzio or the use of his vast psychic abilities was deemed flawed. Powerful as he was, even he could not be everywhere at once, and the needs of the UNW outstripped what one man could reasonably do to provide for them.   Mazzio took his leave of the UNW after the Battle of Terezinho, stealing several Ad-Astra ships along with his partner Dr. Thorn. Believing that the United Nations of Worlds was not taking the Shaper host seriously enough, they traveled north gathering up other exiles and those he believed best suited to help carry out his vision. Behind him, the Tenebrian Remnant war still raged, deadlocking United Nations of Worlds forces to their current spheres of engagement.   Silvano was encountered several times after once the UNW also underwent mobilization efforts to take the fight directly to the Fleshshapers. His fleet, now rebranded the Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces appeared at the Battle of Sumati, and as soon as victory was achieved, left the system.   Silvano sailed east, stopping to steal resources from soft targets along the way, and eventually expended vast amounts of psionic power to shape his new home-world of Bergasa. His captured Remnant Colossus hangs in orbit, along with the support fleet he tactically required or attracted from less satisfied parties.   Mazzio has kept relations with nearby polities cordial, but cold, seeming keen to isolate his group and find their way forward on his own.
