Akhlaqi

A migrating people of once humanoids, they have been on planet so long their past as a star-faring people has long since faded into myth. They have few fixed settlements, and predominantly wander the planet in search of what exactly, none can be sure.   Those fixed settlements that do exist are large, built from the cannibalized wrecks of crashed colony ships. Powerful scrap-rigged generators keep the cities supplied with energy.   In Y2M11, the native Ashen Ones were evacuated from the world after being ravaged by a horrific wasting disease that seemed to effect only them and from there had spread out to the rest of the Iron Stars polities as eager new citizens.    In March 2669 an Imago Dei explorer named Typasius the Veteran returned to the world believing that their robotic form offered some advantage and protection against the airborne viral hellscape here. His assumptions were correct and with the extra time on the surface he was allowed, he was able to explore Crash Site 1, finding hundreds of thousands of Ashen One embryo's kept in cold storage with the last of their colony ark's power.    It is believed there are more on the other wrecks.
