It allows written messages to be sent to those with similar devices connected to the Wire. Use of the wireless uses 1 nanite per hour, allowing a person to attempt a re-roll on a knowledge check with a +5 bonus during that time of research. Other things have been known to be done with such devices, such as being spell books for wizards but this requires information in a specialised form.
