Enhancement slot

An enhancement slot is implanted into the target’s brain or chest, leaving a small port. This port is covered with a flap of skin when not in use. Once installed, an enhancement slot has no effect until an appropriate chip is inserted into the port (see here for information on the various forms of available chips.) An inserted chip enhances the user’s ability score encoded on the chip; the magnitude to which the ability is enhanced depends on the power of the chip. When a chip is removed, its benefits end immediately, but the wearer suffers no ill effects.   As the slot accesses specific parts of the body, only one slot of each (chest or brain) can be installed.
