Oskos wilds
Great plains stretch in the middle of the continent. The wilds are inhabited by an alliance of five nomadic tribes led by five clans dated all the way to the divine age. The inhabitants are mostly descendants of animalistic species and individuals cursed with lycanthropy exiled here from surrounding nations. As the area is barely developed and due to the power of the tribes inhabiting it, none of the powers on the continent ever tried to conquer seeing it as more trouble than it is worth.
Geography
The wilds are mostly planes with several hill ranges. There are two rivers flowing through the wilds. One in the northeast is surrounded by dense forest and the other one is in the west with two lakes and is only partly surrounded by forest. The east and west borders are large mountain ranges. South-east lies the desert.
History
Most of the first inhabitants of the Oskos wilds were banished here from kingdoms to the west and east during the migration of nations. The wilds were protected by twin silver dragons Braimriss and Brymmat. Many tribes have formed under the protection of the dragons. However, not every race stayed in the wild. Dragonborns that were banished here migrated to the western mountains where the twin dragons resided. There they founded a monastery to help the dragons with the protection of the wilds.
The wilds were never in any real danger until god from the West decided to make them his hunting ground. The god battled the twin dragons and their followers. The dragons would have won if Brymmat had not betrayed Braimriss, he joined the god and together they killed Braimriss. After that, the god descended upon the wild expecting nothing to stop him. However, there was a mortal who managed to stop and force him to retreat.
He became the first god of Oskos. Soon three others followed and ascended to godhood. Under these gods were formed, powerful tribes. However, with the rise of powers, the danger of conflict also rose. Then the fifth god ascended and made peace between the gods. After that, the alliance between the five largest tribes was formed.
This led to a sort of golden age for the wilds. During this period, Mythstorm the only settlement in the history of Oskos was constructed as well as several of the sacred sites in the wilds. The tribes settled in Mythstorm and only small groups remained nomadic.
At the end of the divine age, the gods left the wilds and ended their worship. Thanks to this the wilds did not experience any unrest during and after the divine silence. The tribes returned to their nomadic way of life and the wilds enjoy relative peace till present days.
