Kadence Thorne

Kadence Thorne was born in Shand, the capital of the Kingdom of Shaedal, to the oldest werewolf pact known as Black Canidae. She was the youngest of six siblings, and her family was notorious for their steadfast reputation. They ruled not just with their strength but also with cunning and a tight grip on their territory.   From a young age, Kadence showed an unusual talent for smooth talking and deception, skills she honed as she grew older. While her siblings were more inclined to rely on brute strength, Kadence preferred to use her words and wit to get what she wanted. This, combined with her natural agility and strength as a werewolf, made her a formidable force.   The Thorne family was well-respected and feared, but tragedy struck when Kadence was only a kid. Her parents, Lorraine and Byron Thorne, were ambushed by a rival pact during a full moon and brutally murdered. The attack left a deep emotional and physical scar on Kadence. She barely survived the encounter and was left with a massive scar across her torso that serves as a constant reminder of that night.   With her parents gone and siblings gone, Kadence was left to fend for herself. Kadence, already hardened by her upbringing, took to the streets and skies. She found solace in the lawless lands of Plundering Heights, a place where the strong thrived and the weak perished. Here, Kadence’s natural leadership skills came to the forefront, and she soon gathered a crew of like-minded individuals, forming The Grays. The Grays are a notorious group of pirates known for their daring heists and fierce loyalty to one another.   Kadence’s connection to the moon was not just a curse but a source of power. She embraced her werewolf nature and used it to intimidate and overpower her enemies. The fear of being hunted just as her family was never left her, though, and survivor's guilt still lingers in Kadence's pysche.   Despite her rough exterior, Kadence has a deep-seated need for connection. She finds comfort in her bond with Zephyr, her loyal falcon. Rescued from the clutches of a cruel bird handler, Zephyr became more than just a pet. He is her companion in solitude, her eyes in the sky, and her partner in crime. Together, they navigate the treacherous world of piracy, with Kadence leading her crew with a mix of fear and respect.   Kadence is a fierce leader haunted by past traumas, a werewolf who fears becoming prey, and a pirate who craves loyalty. She remains steadfast, driven by a desire to protect what is hers and to ensure that she is never taken by surprise again.
