Usage and Effect
Usage
This potion is used to treat minor magical burns. Field medics use this often to either ease magical burns from fights or give it to them during cold snaps. Many hunters in the area use this potion during the cold winter hunts. Blacksmithing apprentices and fire magic users often grab one before they become immune. Beast tamers that deal with animals, critters and monsters of the pyromantic variety often use this potion as well.Effect
The usage of Cinder Toad Slime is crucial to the process. It promotes rapid skin regeneration around burns. Minor burns may heal in minutes or hours. More severe burns may take additional dosages of this potion. This potion may also give cold resistance for 4-6 hours depending on the person.
Instructions
1. Bring cauldron to a gentle heat, adding water.
2. Add Cinder Toad Slime and stir counter-clockwise 4 times to awaken its medicinal properties.
3. Slowly add the Pyrestone Shard dust. It will react violently if you add it all at once. Let simmer.
4. Add the drops of Frostvine Essence one at a time, stirring clockwise twice after each one. This ingredient will cool the potion significantly and allow it to settle. It should now stop boiling and clear up.
5. Let cool and bottle while still warm.
4.5 - (optional) Add two Emberleaf. I have found that this increases the duration of the cold resistance and also speeds up the healing process for severe burns. I suspect that what happens is that the leaves raise the ambient temperature and therefore make the potion last longer. There is a drawback, excessive use can cause a burning sensation in your chest and mouth. For those who use it for staying warm, it would be perfect. Maybe a bit too much for those recovering from burns.
