Shenir
The Everchild
358 BA, on the western coast of what is now known as the Addush island, an aracokkra name Giath had created an orphanage as a front to exploit orphans for labor. After almost a year, the children began to speak about an imaginary friend that they all shared; A goat with iridescent horns wrapped in vines with flowers. The goat began visiting them more and more, playing with them and teaching them little things about their environment.
One day it told them to go to sleep in their room and stay until an adult came to get them. The next morning local authorities came after an anonymous tip about the illegal practices and found Giath dead in his office; seemingly gored to death by a goat.

No one is quite sure where the Everchild came from; all that is known is records throughout culture and history of a trickster watching over the young. The name Shenir kept appearing with this figure, leading to it being the name mortals call it.
The Shifting Trickster causes some mixed feelings to those who care for and watch children- parents not wanting their kids to be mischievous or to cause trouble- but Shenir is largely viewed in an affectionate light. The protection and desire to bring joy to children outweighs the mischief in the eyes of the world.
The Symbol of the Everchild is almost always used in places that care for children like schools or orphanages to call its attention to watch over the children. Places that don't use the Everchild's symbol are often viewed with some suspicion, becoming plagued with questions of why they don't want the Guardian of the young to see what they're doing.
