The Spires of Eldrak

The Spires of Eldrak is a group of mountain range located in the northeast of Danuria. Renowned for its towering peaks, the Spires can be spotted from afar, with their majestic presence visible as far as Zyrnon. Serving as the dwelling place for the majority of the Folgardian population, this mountain range holds significant cultural and economic importance. While most settlements are nestled within the valleys between the mountains, there are also several strongholds perched atop the grandeur of the Spire's peaks. Notably, Mt. Ire, which serves as Folgard's capital, stands as one of these formidable strongholds and represents one of the most advanced settlements in all of Danuria.
Moreover, the Spires of Eldrak boast abundant reserves of valuable minerals and metals, making Folgardian mines beacons of economic power. The vast quantity of mountains and intricate cave systems yields a nearly ludicrous abundance of ores and gemstones. This abundance allows blacksmiths and jewelers within the region to enjoy a remarkable degree of freedom in perfecting their crafts. Many of the mountain passes are controlled by private mining companies, all engaged in a competitive race to secure control over the precious resources hidden deep within the earth's bowels.
The weather within the Spires is incredibly diverse, reflecting the range's vast expanse. The northernmost peaks are locked in perpetual snowfall, creating a wintry landscape of serene beauty. In contrast, the southern peaks are bathed in relentless sunlight, baking the surrounding environment. The mountains between these extremes experience a constant cycle of rainfall, with the resulting rivers flowing off the mountain tops. These rivers meander either eastwards into the ocean or westwards towards the plains on the outskirts of Calduria. However, since the Rending, the once plentiful southern flow of rivers has diminished, leaving the land south of the Spires parched and arid.
