Gelusia
Gelusia is nestled in the northernmost region of Danuria, with Calduria on its southern border and Folgard on its eastern border. The Gelusian-Caldurian border inclines quite steeply, with the entirety of Gelusia forming a kingdom-wide hill, with the summit being roughly in the center of Gelusia's landmass. Due to this, the trees and other plantlife appear to grow at an angle inconsistent with the ground. At the border, this is hardly of consequence, but the closer one gets to the summit, the more disorienting this effect can be during snowstorms.
This is compounded by the constant overcast weather; the stark height difference between Folgard to the east creates a downward draft that carries a constant flow of dense storm clouds towards Gelusia. This leads to a constant snowfall that grows in intensity the further westbound one goes. Slow blindness is unavoidable in the areas with the densest snowfall, as the oddly-angled trees and with the lack of long-range vision can disorient even the most experienced adventurers.
Gelusia's skies are also known to be the most active. Behind the clouds are constant displays of auroras, which scintillate in shades of blue, white, and silver as they manifest. Normally these are hidden from view, blocked by Gelusia's overcast weather; on the rare nights that the sky is unobstructed, these displays can finally be seen.
Winterfires manifest all across Gelusia, although are more prominent in areas hit with dense blizzards.
Gelusia's economic power derives from its export in exotic furs, blubber, and most notably, Everfrost. Everfrost is a crystalline reagent that can be utilized and infused in a variety of ways. Everfrost is known to be able to maintain its temperature for long periods of time, proving highly effective for food preservation. Mixing ground Everfrost into paint or concrete has a similar, although less dramatic effect that assists with keeping homes cool during warm weather; its effects are most notable in Arenian homes. Everfrost can also be used as an alchemical reagent, and is generally used in a wide variety of medicinal treatments for treatment of muscle pain and fatigue, burns, frostbite, and many other ailments.
