Soul Slice

Known in Legend only, crafted in the depths of Asmodeus' realm, this blade has the ability to separate the terrestrial body from the soul which wields it. The smiths, sorcerers, alchemists, wizards, and clerics who crafted it, molded it after Soul Scythe, and Asmodeus imbued it with power, granting it a portion of the power of the one it was based off.
Sentience. Soul Slice is a sentient chaotic evil weapon with an Intelligence of 18, a Wisdom of 16, and a Charisma of 20. It has hearing, darkvision, and blindsight to a range of 120 feet. Soul Slice can read and understand Common, but does not audibly speak. It has telepathy to a range of 120 feet.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Weapon Shift

Soul Slice has the ability to change its form to that of any type of weapon to suit its wielder. Soul Slice can even split into two weapons at once to accommodate wielders who fight primarily with two-weapon fighting. Soul Slice decides what form it takes (see Sentience below) and can change its form at any time. If Soul Slice is split into two weapons, both halves of Soul Slice must be in close proximity to one another to transform into a single weapon.

Curse of the Trapped Soul

When holding Soul Slice, the character must make a DC 23 Charisma saving throw. On a passed throw, the character is able wield Soul Slice with the same proficiency as a normal weapon of that type. On a failed throw, you fall victim to its curse, when you are grasping Soul Slice you are charmed by the sword. While charmed, Soul Slice can issue you a magical command, forcing you to carry out some service or refrain from some action or course of activity as it decides. Each time you act directly contrary to its instructions, you take 5d10 psychic damage or roll another Charisma saving throw at the same difficulty to resist the command, but no more than once per hour. Soul Slice can issue any command it wishes, short of an activity that would result in certain death. If Soul Slice issues a suicidal command, the curse ends. The curse lasts until you are no longer holding Soul Slice. If you fail by greater then 7, take 3d10 psychic damage, and if Soul Slice is within 10 feet of you, you are still under the curse. The character is also under the effects of Short-Term Madness, or Long-Term Madness if failed by greater then 10.

Rending Soul

Whenever Soul Slice it used to drop an enemy to 0 hit points, the soul is ripped from the body of the creature and unable to interact in any way with the creature's body. The soul does not go to an afterlife, but rather is blind to and from the Raven Queen, so cannot be guided anywhere. The Soul is in a fever dream forever, and the body of the creature instantly turns to bones or disappears,
