Mechanics & Inner Workings
Weapon Shift.
Soul Scythe has the ability to change its form to that of any type of weapon to suit its wielder. Soul Scythe can even split into two weapons at once to accommodate wielders who fight primarily with two-weapon fighting. Soul Scythe decides what form it takes (see Sentience above) and can change its form at any time. If Soul Scythe is split into two weapons, both halves of Soul Scythe must be in close proximity to one another to transform into a single weapon. The Mad God's Curse
When holding Soul Scythe, the character must make a DC 27 Charisma saving throw. On a passed throw, the character is able wield Soul Scythe with the same proficiency as a normal weapon of that type. On a failed throw, you fall victim to its curse, when you are grasping Soul Scythe you are charmed by the sword. While charmed, Soul Scythe can issue you a magical command, forcing you to carry out some service or refrain from some action or course of activity as it decides. Each time you act directly contrary to its instructions, you take 4d10 psychic damage and 2d10 of necrotic damage or roll another Charisma saving throw at the same difficulty to resist the command, but no more than once per hour. Soul Scythe can issue any command it wishes, short of an activity that would result in certain death. If Soul Scythe issues a suicidal command, the curse ends. The curse lasts until you are no longer within 5 feet of Soul Scythe. If you fail by greater then 7, take 3d10 psychic damage and 1 d10 necrotic damage, and if Soul Scythe is within 30 feet of you, you are still under the curse. The Character is also under the effect of long-term madness, If the character fails by 10 or more, Soul Scythe can attempt to merge with the character's body, the character must make a DC 24 Constitution save to resist. If failed, Soul Scythe cannot be let go of.Rending Soul
Whenever Soul Scythe it used to drop an enemy to 0 hit points, the soul is ripped from the body of the creature and sealed off into an extra dimensional vast tomb away from the ability to be contacted in any way by anything in the known dimensions. The soul may only be removed from this space through use of a wish spell. When it rends a soul, Soul Scythe grants you temporary hit points equal to the slain creature's hit point maximum, these hit points fade after 24 hours. If you hit an undead with this weapon, you take 1d10 necrotic damage and the target regains 1d10 hit points. If this necrotic damage reduces you to 0 hit points, Soul Scythe devours your soul. If you die while attuned to Soul Scythe, the weapon devours your soul.Soul Charge

All creatures within 15 feet of you must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you. Then, for the next 10 minutes, any creature you target with an attack takes an additional 2d4 force damage, whether your attack hits or not. You can use this action once per day.Energy Shield
